One Voice. One Mission. - Presenting a Vision for the Future
Five days after Mitch Landrieu was elected as the 61st Mayor of New Orleans, Transition New Orleans was launched to help prepare for when he takes office on May 3, 2010. Led by Co-chairs Judy Reese Morse and Doug Thornton, the transition team began working to identify the challenges and opportunities facing the City and provide information that will guide the new administration.

Mayor-elect Mitch Landrieu closely monitoring situation on Gulf of Mexico oil flow and emergency
New Orleans - Mayor-elect Mitch Landrieu continues to monitor closely the emergency situation brought on by the uncontrolled flow of oil in the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, the result of the explosion on the Deep Water Horizon platform on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.

Representatives from twelve federal agencies and the White House met Sunday and Monday in New Orleans with Mayor-Elect Mitch Landrieu and members of his transition team, for a series of working sessions focused on policy priorities for the city and the Obama Administration.

Inauguration Committee unveils events for May 3, 2010
The Inauguration Committee formed to plan and produce the events of Monday, May 3, 2010, announced this morning the slate of activities that will signal the beginning of the new administration for the City of New Orleans. The Committee is comprised of volunteers with Mrs. Cheryl Landrieu, the wife of Mayor-elect Mitch Landrieu, serving as Chair.

NOPD Task Force Progress Report: International Group Recruits Candidates for Police Chief
The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the world’s leading association of law enforcement executives, has begun recruiting candidates for the next Superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD). Transition New Orleans engaged the DC-based nonprofit to assist the NOPD Task Force with the national search.
